Columbia Strathdale Centre – Reception

At Columbia Strathdale, Dynamis was engaged to transform the Reception and Waiting area into a warm, functional, and dementia-considerate space—one that sets the tone for every experience within the facility.

The goal was to create a brighter, more welcoming environment that not only improved first impressions but also supported daily interactions for residents, staff, and visitors. In doing so, the project aimed to optimise a key underused space and enhance comfort and accessibility, particularly for those in high-care and dementia support.

This transformation followed The Dynamis Way—our phased, single-source delivery model that brings strategy, design, and execution together in a seamless, accountable process. Through early engagement and continuous collaboration, we ensured that every detail of the upgrade aligned with both operational goals and the emotional needs of those using the space.

The works involved the complete refurbishment of the reception zone. Outdated elements—doors, flooring, and furniture—were removed and replaced with high-quality, custom joinery, including a new reception desk, bespoke sign-in station, and paneling designed to add warmth and structure. Lighting was upgraded with energy-efficient LED fixtures, improving visibility, comfort, and overall ambience. Electrical infrastructure was also reconfigured to support a more functional, future-ready layout.

The result is a reception space that does far more than welcome—it invites connection, instills confidence, and reflects the care and professionalism that define Columbia Aged Care. Residents and visitors are met with a space that feels calm, safe, and thoughtfully designed, while staff benefit from improved flow, functionality, and morale.

Delivered with zero variations and a defect-free handover, the project exemplifies Dynamis’ commitment to certainty, quality, and meaningful impact. By integrating local heritage features and applying dementia-friendly principles, this reception is not only a practical upgrade—it’s a symbol of care, community, and the power of considered design.
